Resident Evil 6 will apparently have over 4 hours of cutscenes.

According to the BBFC(via Kotaku), forthcoming title Resident Evil 6 will contain over 4 hours of cutscene content. Is this a little excessive? Well for classic RE fans, possibly.

Say goodbye to tank walking!

The series has been on a downward slope of cutscene heavy footage and action oriented sequences ever since Shinji Mikami directed the 4th entry. However, unlike Mikami, Capcom has neglected to properly balance both styles to create another memorable experience. What do you think??

As long as cutscenes are skippable, I don’t see much of an issue. I never have a problem with “too many’ cutscenes as long as the gameplay is there. (And by there I mean lots of it and fun)

I cater to both sides personally, while I do enjoy and love the RE titles of old, I can’t turn down some great cutscenes!

I’ve never actually played a RE game (I’m not much for survival horror, being a giant wimp) so I can’t really speak for this specific example. The real question is, how much time is dedicated to gameplay? If there is over 4 hours of cutscenes, I would expect there to be upwards of 15-20 hours of campaign, if not more.
