Ranting About Lore: How Diablo III’s Story Falls Short (Contains Spoilers)

Now that we’ve all had plenty of time to get in some quality time with Blizzard’s long-awaited continuation of it’s famed dungeon-crawling, loot-dropping, demon-slaying, it’s time to talk about the elephant in the room. After twelve years, while we’ve gotten some very enjoyable gameplay, even in spit of the always-online hiccups, the plot, especially when compared to its predecessor, leaves much to be desired! Join me as I discuss what fell short, and what was done well, in the plot of Diablo III.

    I won’t disagree that the story had its odd moments; but it didn’t bother me at all really. Diablo is not Mass Effect. It’s not a plot-driven game to me. It’s a straight up hack-n-slash. Sure, there’s always been story and lore there; but I felt it ancillary to the game. To me what matters is, was the game fun? And well…I’ll write about that later. :b
